Hauts-de-France
SPECIES PRODUCED
  • Spring rape

The spring hybrid rapeseeds are produced in Hauts-de-France, Normandy and Brittany, close to the coastline. These choices aim to limit stress as much as possible and to benefit from rainfall climatology and temperatures which rarely exceed 25ºC. These regions also have the advantage of being unharmed by winter rape and destructive insects such as pollen beetles or seed pod weevils.Learn more

  • Abyssinian mustard

For 3 years now, Deleplanque has ensured production of its Abyssinian mustard seeds, sold purely but also main componant of Carinazote and Abynazote blends.

Its agricultural characteristics have pushed the company to research regions with gentle climates, which are not sensitive to frost and with sufficient rain levels, in order to ensure a cycle of 11 months. The seed multiplication is from this point forward concentrated in Normandy and in the Hauts-de-France, in plots close to the coastline.

  • Vining pea

In 2014, Deleplanque diversified its expertise in seed production and became interested in producing vegetable seeds. Near large crop species, the pea was quickly ordered to be the first vegetable to produce. Today, we have increased seed production of vining peas on behalf of different major breeders and in three large regions: Beauce, Poitou-Charentes and Picardy/Champagne. This regional diversity ensures a distribution of production risk for our clients and also allows us to respond to different types of early ripening. The harvesting of vining peas can be delivered dry or can even be separated, treated and conditioned depending on the specifications.

  • Spinach

Most production of spinach seeds in Europe is carried out in Denmark in the regions where spring rapeseeds are also produced. Based on this observations, we have implemented different production tests in our spring rapeseed production areas (Hauts-de-France and Brittany coastlines) on latitudes which are slightly lower than in Denmark and in areas with a gentle climate and which are not overly stressful. The results are very conclusive and the first commercial productions of spinach seeds sown in 2017 confirm the interest of these new production areas; a real alternative to the concentration of spinach production in Northern Europe.
