SPECIES PRODUCED
  • Fodder beet
  • Sugar beet

Deleplanque produces sugar beetroot seeds in 4 regions and has 2 sugar beetroot seed stations, with Manosque and Villefollet, which is unique in France. Beauce region is dedicated to the production of multi-germ seed varieties, and Brittany to the nursery plants, for the production of stecklings which are then transplanted. Provence and Deux-Sèvres areas concentrate on growing commercial mono-germ seeds and experiments.Learn more

  • Spring rape

The spring hybrid rapeseeds are produced in Hauts-de-France, Normandy and Brittany, close to the coastline. These choices aim to limit stress as much as possible and to benefit from rainfall climatology and temperatures which rarely exceed 25ºC. These regions also have the advantage of being unharmed by winter rape and destructive insects such as pollen beetles or seed pod weevils.Learn more

  • Winter rape

Production of our winter rapeseeds are located in the south-east and south-west, two regions where harvesting starts from mid-June.Learn more

  • Chickpea

In 2017, Deleplanque began production of chickpea seeds to introduce them into the French market. To split up the production risk, the multiplication is carried out in the Manosque and Villefollet areas, where the harvests will also be worked on.

  • Vining pea

In 2014, Deleplanque diversified its expertise in seed production and became interested in producing vegetable seeds. Near large crop species, the pea was quickly ordered to be the first vegetable to produce. Today, we have increased seed production of vining peas on behalf of different major breeders and in three large regions: Beauce, Poitou-Charentes and Picardy/Champagne. This regional diversity ensures a distribution of production risk for our clients and also allows us to respond to different types of early ripening. The harvesting of vining peas can be delivered dry or can even be separated, treated and conditioned depending on the specifications.

  • Vegetable radish

Over the last few years, the production of lined and hybrid radish seeds has practically disappeared from the French countryside. The cause: pressure from insects, pollen beetles in particular, has become out of control. Deleplanque has decided to run several production tests in Brittany, a region with a gentle climate and without pressure from pollen beetles. The positive results from these trials have led to the first commercial productions of European radishes in 2017, with excellent results in terms of resistance to disease. Other tests run in 2017 on Daikon radishes are particularly promising and will allow for production to be implemented from 2018.

  • Soya

In 2017, Deleplanque began producing soya seeds which it distributed in the French market. The early ripening cycles vary from group 000(0) to group 1. The production of different varieties are arranged near the seed facility of Villefollet, where the seeds are worked on.

  • White sunflower

Deleplanque ensures the implementation of production contracts for seeds which are intended to the birdseed market. The similarities among this type of production and the production of seeds have led the company to invest in these niche markets. The constraints and requests are in fact very close:

    • obligation for identification and traceability, with management by lot (allotted production)
    • compliance with the demanding specifications of each client

The production of, for example, millet or sunflower seeds are located at farms equipped with the capabilities for drying and pre-cleaning or are even concentrated around our industrial tool of Villefollet, where we have all the equipment needed to satisfy the specifications of our clients.

  • Hybrid sunflower

Deleplanque has produced sunflower seeds since 2013 in Provence, around Manosque, and in Poitou-Charentes near Villefollet station. The production of seeds are entrusted to growers equipped with irrigation in order to ensure staggered sowing, and available during the roguing period. All these interventions are supervised by our technical teams. Deleplanque ensures drying of the harvested seeds of hybrid sunflowers on industrial sites. The seeds are delivered to clients, whether untreated or after the sorting, calibration and treatment operations piloted in Villefollet seed facility.

  • Hybrid triticale

With 30 years of experience in the production of hybrid rye seed, the company is interested in hybrid triticale, the first trials of which started in 2012. Triticale certified seeds are produced in the ‘Deux-Sèvres’ département, close to Villefollet station.Learn more
